Thank you for the contest - I have JUST finished teaching my 10 year old daughter to knit - LOL plain garter stitch (a 7 stitch scarf for her stuffed bear) she is dragging her feet out the door to school now because she wants to stay home and KNIT! My 21 year old daughter is working on her first pair of socks so it looks like she may have some compatition from her younger sis soon! Looking at your blog now - and thannks again!

A year ago I taught my then nine-year daughter to knit, she began a project of knitting a fifteen stitch, 70 inches length scarf thus it took her over seven months of boredom to finish. I felt changing needles to further her inspiration but she was not happy and now I notice these lovely needles geared toward children. I would like her to have the desire to continue knitting perhaps with time, patience and a smacking pair of needles and yarn to boot may work.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great site. I love your photos of the Souk. I have similar photos from Nepal. Thanks for a cool contest too!

I taught my daughter to knit garter stitch and make crochet chains when she turned five. Now (only a year later), she still likes to knit with me. I think the Pony knitting needles (or knittles, as she calls them) are a great idea. My daughter often brings me her knitting and asks which needle is "taking" (ie--has the working yarn). With these needles, I could just answer "the blue one!" or "the orange one!" :)
ReplyDeleteThose are the cutest. I'm in: I'm supposed to teach a knitting seminar at my child's school this year.
ReplyDeleteThese are darling! I love them! Thanks so much for offering a giveaway! FUN!
ReplyDeleteI made your necklace for my daughter. She loves it! I didn't take any photos unfortunately before I gave it to her.
ReplyDeleteI have nieces who are just old enough to learn how to knit and these would really encourage them to take up the craft.
Thank you for the contest!
